Handle axis bevel gear

Name: Bevel Gear of Handle Shaft

Latin Name: Dosator Piston or Locking Pin

Group Technical Number: K-110-04-XX/KORSCH-MAN-ADJ-05

Material: Made of hardened and nitrided pharmaceutical chromium-manganese alloy steel such as: 5Cr16Mn or StainlessSteel 420. The bevel gear at the end of the shaft is usually machined rigidly and integrally with the shaft itself so that it does not slip or break under high torques.

Station: Manual Adjustment & Calibration Zone

Application in the machine:

  • 90 degree torque change: When the operator rotates the handle or outer knob of the machine for adjustment, this long shaft transmits the force to the depth of the chassis and, through the end bevel gear, moves the moving cam rail such as the Filling Cam vertically up or down.
  • Dimensional stability and zero backlash: The machined bevel gears at the end of the shaft engage very precisely with their opposite gear so that the smallest rotation of the hand handle directly leads to micrometer changes in tablet weight or thickness.

Technical specifications:

  • Axle section and bearing seat: The long shaft body has ground and polished steps with very precise dimensional tolerances (g6 or h6) which is the location of the bearings, seals and bronze bushings sealing the frame of the Korsh machine.
  • The end of the shaft (left side of the image): has a grooved step or spline section and internal thread on which the operator’s rotary graduated handle or knob is completely locked and fixed.
